Your First Visit to Imperial Alterations

Whether it’s your first hem or a full bridal transformation, here’s everything you need to know before your visit.

How It Works

1

Book or Walk In

Walk-ins are welcome at both locations for most services. For bridal fittings and complex projects, we recommend booking an appointment to guarantee your time slot.

2

Free Consultation

Bring your garment in and our experienced tailor will assess the work needed, discuss your options, and provide an exact quote—no obligation. This takes about 10–15 minutes.

3

We Get to Work

Once you approve the work, we’ll get started. Standard turnaround is 2 weeks for most alterations. Need it sooner? Rush service is available with a 20% surcharge.

4

Fitting & Pickup

We’ll notify you by text when your order is ready. We recommend trying on your altered garments in-store—if anything needs a small adjustment, we’ll take care of it. Learn more about pickup.

What to Bring

  • The garment(s) you want altered
  • The shoes you’ll wear with the garment (essential for hemming)
  • Any inspiration photos showing the fit or style you want
  • Your event date if you have a deadline (so we can plan accordingly)

Bridal Appointments

Wedding dress alterations are one of our core specialties. Because bridal work requires precision fitting across multiple sessions, here’s what to know:

  • Appointment required — Bridal fittings need dedicated time with our senior seamstress
  • Timeline: Start at least 6–8 weeks before your wedding (2 months minimum)
  • Plan for 2–3 fittings to ensure a perfect fit
  • Bring your shoes and undergarments you’ll wear on the day
  • Services include: hemming, bustles, bodice adjustments, strap alterations, neckline reshaping, adding cups, and more
